I finished a few backgrounds for a visual novel project I'm working on (Project Hitobashira) a few months back and decided it was good enough a time to share the final results.

Project Hitobashira will release its first DEMO with the full Prologue and first Chapter scripted as soon as the initial placeholder assets are done (IE: The protagonists, and characters in the DEMO, sketchy sprites).

This background is going to be one of the most important ones, as it is the front gate of an ancestral house that belongs to the protagonists family and on game lore it is constructed upon a very old ancestral land that belonged to their ancestors. It collides with the temple that the family inherited and serves as a reunion point for all the families in the village to gather around (higurashi-much, am I right? well, the game is indeed inspired by the higurashi series).

The files are all in a 1066 × 600px resolution. I'll add the PSD version for those of you who'd like to re-dimension them later.
